A beautiful Snow Moon rising over Dinish Island in Castletownbere,

A lovely clear night and I head out to capture the full moon. A full moon in February is known as a Snow Moon. Most of the time we only see the moon when its high in the sky lighting up the landscape. If your lucky to catch it rising and not covered by the mountains, or clouds it is blood red. As it gets higher it fades into a yellow and then into the very bright light we usually associate with a full moon.

Lucky for me, although I misjudged the spot where it would rise, it was a spectacular sight , rising as a red ball of fire slowly changing, to yellow and finally into a bright light as it got higher into the night sky.
