Berehaven Ladies win the West Munster Final

Berehaven Ladies entered the Revive Active All-Ireland Fourball competition this year for the first time. We beat our neighbours Kenmare at home in round one and followed up with another home victory over Dooks GC from Killorglin in the next round. The team thus progressed into the West Munster quarter final and came up against Waterville, again drawn at home. It was an extremely pleasant and sporting match but played in horrific weather conditions. Yet again the ladies were victorious.

And so the semi final was played on Monday July 18th and Berehaven took on Doneraile at home - the luck of the draw! This was a nail biting evening where Berehaven had lost 2 matches and needed to win the next 3. It came down to the wire! The third match won on the 16th, next match on to the 19th and the last match one up on the 18th - the putts were sunk and victory again. There were tears, shouting, hugging, laughter and disbelief - but yes HISTORY FOR BEREHAVEN LADIES GOLF

The West Munster Final was played on Sunday last 7th August in Ballyneety Golf Club, County Limerick versus Adare Manor GC and yet again these amazing women through utter determination and endurance rose to victory again with the last match sank the putt on the 18th. This is the first muster pennant the Berehaven Ladies have ever won.

The next round is the All- Ireland Quarter finals in Loughrea, Co Galway on the 3rd September verus Ulster South, Cavan Golf Club.

The team comprises of Zoe Murphy, Claire McCarthy, Carol P Murphy, Olivia O'Shiel, Liz O'Regan, Sarah Harrington, Angela O'Sullivan, Tracy O'Sullivan, Rosarie Hanley & Lorraine Downey, Edel Decike, Bernadette O Sullivan & Aoife McCarthy.
