A very successful fundraiser for Cancer Connect. Vince Power, from Castletownbere, was diagnosed with cancer and used the services of Cancer Connect to take to and from Cork for his daily treatment. Vince wanted to give something back as a way of a thank you, so after setting up a committee, they organised a fundraiser to raise funds and awareness. A walk with Vince on Bere Island and a dance with Vince the same night in MacCarthy’s Bar in Castletownbere. The fundraiser proved to be a huge success with over €16,000 being raised.
The cheque for €16,517 was presented to the Cancer Connect Manager Helen O Driscoll on Friday night in McCarthy’s Bar.
Well done to all involved. Vince would like to sincerely thank everyone who walked, danced and donated money to such a great cause.
